Alison French, 57, posted about her 14-year-old Shih Tzu Looby’s last walk along Wallasey beach, Merseyside in the UK, on social media.

The pet had battled lymphoma cancer for almost three years and doctors had warned Alison that she would only live for a few weeks.

”I don’t really have anyone to support me, so I posted on a few local groups to see if anyone could help me say goodbye to her.”

”And the response was fantastic, hundreds of people have shared the post and said they would come down to the beach.”

Writing about her dog, she said: ”Looby you were a brilliant dog for me. I miss you so much but at least you are up in heaven now out of pain.”

”You can also eat what you want up there… as you hate dog food.”

Geoff Davies

”Goodnight everybody. I’m going to sleep next to her tonight as she will be getting buried very soon.”
