It might come out as a surprise to you all but drinking even one can of sugary drink can raise your risk of dying because of the heart disease.
According to a study and research are done by Harvard, it was found that drinking one can of energy drinks, soda and juice can increase the risk of heart disease and cancer by 31%. It can be a cause of premature death and can cause troubles with your health.
According to the scientists, drinking diet cold drinks instead of sugary drinks can lower the risk of premature death but if you drink more than four cans of diet drinks per day than the risk can rise again.
There was a research done by Vasanti Malik who is a research scientist from the department of nutrition from the Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health.
Vasanti Malik claimed that there should be a limit on the intake of sugary drinks and people should replace it with other drinks like water because it will improve their health for the long term.
The research group once analyzed around 80,647 women from the Nurses’ Health Study of 1980 to 2014, and 37,716 men from the Health Professionals Follow up of 1986 to 2014 to conclude the effects and risks of death after drinking sugary content.
The results that were published showed the comparison between people who drank sweet drink once a month and others who drank it every other day. The risk was higher for the people who were consuming it every day than the ones who just drank it once a month.
According to the researchers, each can add up to ten percent of risk and drinking more than two to three cans can be a cause of premature death. The higher intake of sugary drinks affects the metabolic risk factors of an individual.
The research also proved that it could also increase the risk of getting type 2 diabetes and higher risk factors for premature death.
The marketing of sugary drinks should be reduced for children and adolescents as it can harm their health quickly.
The SSBs (Sugar-sweetened beverages) is the only source which adds sugar to the American diet, and people blame sodas if they exceed their intake of sugar more than 10 percent every day.
