A mother has hit back at internet trolls who mocked her unique baby name choice and cursed her for choosing such name for her daughter.
27-year-old Jade and Joshua Jeanes have decided to name their daughter Disney, as they are both huge fans of the world-renowned media and entertainment giant.
To share their passion and their name choice, the parents presented their idea on Facebook. After their post went viral, however, the parents found themselves confronted by trolls who slammed them for choosing such a name for their baby.
As Somerset-based Jade explained, however, she has no regrets and totally loves her daughter’s name. All she wishes is for people to see the name’s funny side rather than resort to hurtful comments.
“It’s just a name, there are ordinary names that people give that I don’t like, but I don’t tell them that they shouldn’t give those names,” Jade said.
“It was more of a fun post that I assumed people would be okay with. In the end, people just either hate it or love it.
“My husband’s siblings have young children and they like Disney films so she’ll be brought up in a big, happy Disney family. She’s a bundle of joy to be around.”
Unfazed by the mocking, Disney’s parents have also decorated the little one’s bedroom with silhouettes of Disney characters.
“We really can’t wait to take her to Disney World but since Josh and I both are afraid of flying, we thought we’d start with taking her to France first.
“We’ll wait until she turns two, but that can’t come around quickly enough,” Jade added.
As the 27-year-old former Game assistant went on to explain, they would also love to have a son who they would name Sonic.
“I did think about naming her after a video game character,” Jade said.
“I don’t think I’ve come across any names from video games that were too ‘out there.’ I’d love a son called Sonic.”
