The woman has since been identified as Shauna Bishop. In June of last year, Bishop reported herself into the police after the boy’s family got hold of the situation and filed a report to the police in Folsom, CA. However, the details of this story go far beyond these already troubling facts.

According to local news reports, the boy that Bishop got sexually involved with is the son of her ex-boyfriend, who also works for the sheriff’s office. The boys parents have been divorced, with the boy living with his mother. The dastardly acts are said to have taken place in the very home.

After pleading guilty in July, 4 additional cases that had been brought up against her were dropped. The prosecution was aiming to for a full year sentence, the maximum the judge could give after the plea bargaining.

According to the Folsom police who arrested her, Bishop did not establish contact with the victim via her position in the sheriff’s office nor was on duty when committing the crime. The acts themselves have been reported to have taken place in April of 2019.

The victim’s father, who had dated Bishop for about a year, is said to have grown suspicious of her. In particular, he feared that she was gaslighting his underage son to have a sexual relationship with her, which he found to be inappropriate.

Although the deputy sheriff’s attorney had claimed her honor would be exonerated when the trial commenced, the trial itself never came to fruition after Bishop confessed to her crimes. The attorney had prepared to question the victim in a cross-examination.

Bishop is no longer employed in the sheriff’s office after the allegations were brought up against her. Various reports claimed that she resigned in 2019 after she was arrested, although the exact timing has not been confirmed by other sources.
