A café has gone viral after ordering their customers to wear swimming noodles on their heads in order to ensure social distancing.
With countries in Europe slowly reopening, one café in Germany made sure their visitors would still respect social distancing measures by requiring them to wear swimming noodle hats while at their café.
The bizarre tactic in an attempt to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus was spotted at Cafe & Konditorei Rothe where people were pictured seating outside with colorful noodles on top of their heads.
After the picture went viral, some people quickly suggested that the café’s idea was a brilliant way to enforce social distancing in a funny way.
“So, I think that’s innovative. There is certainly a portion of ironic humor in it!” one Facebook user wrote.
While the idea was generally well-received, some users have suggested that the swimming noodles could contribute to spreading the virus if the staff don’t clean them after each use.
Across Germany, states have started reopening stores, restaurants, and cafés in an attempt to ease lockdown restrictions.
As Chancellor Angela Merkel previously announced, they have taken measures to gradually lift restrictions by allowing businesses and institutions such as museums and galleries to reopen under certain conditions.
Meanwhile, however, the federal states in the country have agreed that re-imposing restrictions could happen if the number of new cases spikes out of control.
