Businessman Smashed His $130,000 Car Into Dealership After It Was Delivered Without Optional Extras He Ordered


In January of 2017, a businessman named the Chu, age 42 ordered the latest model of Porsche, Panamera sports Turismo having a 4D Chassis control which was optional from the dealership showroom in Taichung City of West Taiwan.

He paid £50,000 as a deposit for a car which would cost him £184,000. Its original price is £147,000, but it augments to £184,000 because of the extra features he ordered. The entire deal was set by his assistant.

The shipment was made in November to the island where the businessman lived, but it was barred from the features he specifically ordered.point 402 |

On enquiring, the dealership asserted that no such extra features were part of the sales contract.point 83 | Listening to the arguments of both the sides, it was concluded that mistake was made on the part of the mediator, the Assistant.point 189 | 1

Not paying attention to the mistake made on the part of his assistant, Chu declined to pay the remaining balance for his Panamera rather he insisted that his deposit of £50,000 be given back to him.

But the dealership proved to be even more stubborn than him; they stood their ground and refused to pay his deposit back to him. Instead, the dealership warned him that if he decided to contravene the sales agreement, then they would keep his deposit of £50,000. He was given five days’ notice for the same.

Not paying heed to any warnings, the livid businessman thought that the best idea to make himself heard was to drive his brand new Cayenne through the entryway of the dealership and quarreling with the dealership staff. The entire episode was recorded in the CCTV camera of the dealership showroom.

Police was called after the scene he created in the showroom and arrested the Chu. Taichung City Police while carrying out the investigation found out a pickaxe and petrol in his car., though the intentions of their use weren’t clear.

In the public statement issued by the Chu after being arrested said that he regretted his uncivilized actions and was sorry for the scene he caused. He also clarified that the crash wasn’t intended rather it was an accident. He wanted to avoid getting hit by a runaway car which was running breaching a traffic rule, one thing led to another and he hit the front desk of the showroom.

Although the unpleasant incident is under investigation, the authorities have exposed that the Chu has been found guilty of burglary and fraud in the past.
