A 13-year-old boy with a passion for books and literature has opened up about his life and claimed his classmates bully him because of his hobby.
As England-based Callum Manning revealed, he became a target for bullies at his school after he began sharing titles of his favorite books online.
According to the 13-year-old, he even broke into tears after seeing nasty messages about him in a group chat for students at his school.
“I don’t tend to cry that often but I think that was the first time in a while I’ve actually cried,” Callum expressed as he recalled being mocked by his classmates.
Fortunately, things turned for the better after the boy’s sister, Ellis Landreth, took the matter to Twitter.
“Can’t believe how awful kids are. My little brothers made an Instagram reviewing and talking about books and kids in his new school have seen it and have created a group chat calling him a creep sl*****g him off about it and added him to it so he could see,” she tweeted.
While the proud sister hoped that her message would get her brother some extra likes, she never expected thousands of people to stand up to the bullies and show their support for the bullied boy.
“People saw it and people just thought ‘it’s not right’ because it isn’t. Then I started getting loads of comments from everyone showing their support,” Callum said.
As of this writing, the 13-year-old already has more than 350,000 followers from around the globe.
“I just think it’s really nice that there’s still people in the world who are nice,” he added.
