Bugatti has unveiled the most expensive car ever. The vehicle is one-of-a-kind hypercar and will cost its owner an astronomical amount of £11.4 million, around $14.8 million, after factoring VAT.
Known as La Voiture Noire, the car has already been handed over to its owner.
The car combines the styling of the French vehicle maker’s legendary 1936 Type 57 AC Atlantic and the incredible performance of its existing Chiron hypercar.
The outcome of this amalgam is the most jaw-dropping creation on four wheels to ever exist in the world.
La Voiture Noire translates to ‘The Black Car’ – a name which is given to the thunderous vehicle due to its all-black appearance.
The car was built for a wealthy Bugatti customer as well as for celebrating Bugatti’s 110-year history.
The bodywork of the vehicle has been crafted from hand using carbon fiber. Its engine, eight-liter quad-turbo W16, is the same one which is used to power the current Chiron.
Torque and power figures are 1,600Nm and 1,479bhp respectively, with all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
In the back, the hypercar has a single-strip brake light, six exhausts outlets and a colossal rear diffuser.
‘Every single component has been handcrafted and the carbon fiber body has a deep black gloss only interrupted by the ultra-fine fiber structure,’ Bugatti designer Etienne Salomé said.
‘This is a material that has been handled perfectly. We worked long and hard on this design until there was nothing that we could improve.
‘For us, the coupé represents the perfect form with a perfect finish.’
President of Bugatti, Stephan Winkelmann, rightly described the vehicle as ‘a feast of aesthetics.’
‘This is not only an engine but the heart of the vehicle and a technical masterpiece,’ he said. ‘There is no other car in the world with such an engine.
‘It is not only extremely powerful but also beautiful to look at.’
In addition to its stunning looks, thunderous speed and other incredible features, the supercar is said to be more comfortable than ever.
