Obsession for video games forces mothers to take extreme steps like throwing away their X-Box or snapping their headsets.
In a similar incident, fifteen-years-old Jaden Ashman’s mother had to take his X-Box and headsets away. She thought that Jaden was compromising on his studies and wasting his time playing video games.
Eight hours of playing and not doing homework was not accepted by Lisa Dallman, Jaden’s mother. Jaden was addicted to playing a free online game, Fortnite, in which the contestants fight to be the last person standing on a digital island.
Jaden flew to New York from Essex with his gaming partner to compete at the First World Cup for e-sports under the gaming name: Wolfiez.
They managed to bag second place and $1.125 million or £900,000 each. Around 40 million gamers participated and there were a hundred finalists from 30 countries.
Jaden has also signed £50,000-a-year deal with one of the world’s top gaming teams, Lazarus. He wants to quit school and wishes to buy a house and a car for his mom. The kid also desires to buy some Gucci shoes from the money.
When her mother was asked how Jaden would like to spend the money, she said he would probably get a lifetime supply of Uber Eats and play his video games all day eating those supplies.
Jaden is very happy by the win and happier with the fact that he has proved to his mother that he can do something. His Twitter has been flooding with messages from friends.
Jaden’s youngest sister is very proud of him and said that she will give him a big hug when they buy a new house from the money.
