A bride has gone viral after uploading a video in which she’s seen asking her partner if she could give her ex one final hug.
The story takes place in Malaysia where a woman, who goes under the nickname @mayangkumay on TikTok, shared a controversial video from her wedding reception after her big day.
In the clip, the newly-wed woman is seen asking her husband if she could hug her ex-boyfriend, who was one of the couple’s wedding guests, one last time. After her husband reluctantly nods in approval, the woman gives her ex a hug and caresses his back for a moment.
Following the hug, the ex-boyfriend moves closer to the groom and shakes his hand before hugging him as well.
After the footage went viral, people were left divided, whereas some praised the people involved for acting maturely while others slammed the bride for putting her partner in a tough situation by requesting a hug from her ex.
“Your face can’t lie bro, it hurt but it’s okay,” one person wrote after the video racked up millions of views.
“Your husband deserves better. You should learn to let go!” another one said.
Someone suggested: “You see her husband immediately looks down when he sees his wife hugging her ex. What would the groom’s family think?”
While not everyone agreed that the bride was in the wrong for requesting a hug from her ex on her wedding day, some people suggested she might not be fully over him due to her bizarre request.
