A bride was so excited about throwing the bouquet at her wedding reception that she gave her throw some unexpected strength that catapulted the bouquet to the chandelier and left everyone hanging. Not only did the bouquet get stuck, it even left a foot-sized section of the chandelier damaged.
The awkward mishap happened during the wedding reception of Paige Dalton and her new husband Mike in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

With her aunt Pamela Kok watching, Paige excitedly launched the bouquet high in the air but left everyone (at least, the single women) disappointed once the bouquet got stuck.
Pamela said: “I was so surprised and laughed my head off like everyone else who witnessed the bouquet being thrown into the chandelier.
“It was so funny to see the bride, her bridesmaid, the single ladies and everyone else’s reactions to what just happened.
“I had the best seat in the house, and I was so happy to catch it on video as not everyone saw what happened.
“Paige’s bridesmaid just turned to go and get her own bouquet without hesitation and it couldn’t have turned out more perfect.
“It was funny when the DJ asked if Paige wanted to throw a baseball next.”
Single men the world over are probably wondering why people stick to “silly” traditions like throwing the bouquet since it can raise the hopes of women too much and put unnecessary pressure on men to make the wedding come true.
As it turns out, during more ancient times, being married was taken as a sign of blessing and luck.People wanted a piece of that blessing so it was considered good luck to touch whatever the bride wore such as the veil or her dress (much the same way that Catholics believe that touching statues of Jesus or Mother Mary will bestow divine blessings on them).
Of course, having throngs of people trying to grab a piece of your dress can be quite stressful (and can result in a ruined dress) so brides started throwing their bouquets to distract these overenthusiastic well-wishers while the newlyweds tried to make their way out for the honeymoon.
Fortunately, guests were perfectly happy to accept the bouquet as a stand-in for touching the bride until it developed into its own tradition where the bride deliberately throws the bouquet for the single women who hoped that they too will soon be blessed with a walk to the altar.
So there you have it. Sometimes these traditions have a strange way of developing but it’s a fun fact to know. But if you’re going to be a bride, try not to put so much energy into your throw.
