A man has opened up about his recent incident after his best friend banned him from her wedding.
As an anonymous man, whom we will call Josh, revealed in his Reddit post, one of his best friends, a woman named Carla, asked him if she could host her wedding at his house.
Since Carla and her partner loved Josh’s property, they were thrilled to use it to celebrate their own wedding after the homeowner agreed to their request.
Things, however, took a turn for the worse after the groom discovered that Carla and Josh used to be lovers a long time ago. Following the discovery, Carla and her groom uninvited Josh from their wedding and attempted to ban him from his own house for the weekend.
“My wife and I are expected to just not be at our home that weekend,” Josh, who is already married, revealed.
“I told Carla no. They’re going to have to find someplace else since we’re not going to simply leave our home to them for the weekend. Not only for safety reasons but it just doesn’t make sense.
“The groom doesn’t want me around because he’s not comfortable but is comfortable enough to have their wedding at my house?”
As Josh added, the couple really wants to hold the wedding at his house because of its nice location. However, he refuses to be banned from his own home even though his friends called him out for being ‘selfish’ for not giving the couple some space.
“They really want their wedding here though and because of that I’ve been bugged by not only her but also the groom and some friends who think I’m being a petty a**hole for not letting them have the wedding here anymore,” Josh says.
“Honestly don’t think that I am, it just doesn’t make sense at all to have to leave our own place for a wedding we’re no longer welcome to and leaving our home totally vulnerable. Still, being accused of sabotaging their wedding and the groom believes it’s the least I can do after everything.”
After asking Reddit for advice, Josh quickly received lots of support, whereas readers suggested that Carla’s partner was being immature for wanting to have the wedding at her ex’s place but refusing to let him stay there during the event.
