Bride-To-Be Accused Wedding Photographer Of Fat-Shaming Her By Editing Her Photos

A couple claims that they received a lot more from their wedding photographer than they have expected, but not in a good way.

It all began when Katie Liepold, a bride-to-be, searched for a photographer to hire for her upcoming wedding.

Choosing for the right one was difficult, especially when 20 photographers contacted her. In the end, the couple selected Tower Photography in Medina as they offered an engagement shoot, including two hours of coverage at the reception. However, they didn’t realize that the $600 package also comes with a free humiliating experience.

Didn’t really need the engagement session, but it was in the package, so we did it,” Liepold shared. The shoot with their wedding photographer Linda Silvestri went great. “We laughed, we talked, we joked, we shared stories.”

After a few days, the couple received their pictures. While they were checking their images, they noticed something was not right. “This isn’t exactly what I thought I was going to get,” Liepold expressed. “She actually photoshopped one picture of us skinnier.”

The couple compared the photos side-by-side, and it revealed a significant change. “She probably took like 30 pounds off each of usThat wasn’t asked for, and I just felt like that was hurtful, and my pictures weren’t good enough to be left alone,” she continued.

The photographer responded by telling the couple that they could cancel the contract. But according to Liepold, the story didn’t end there. She also claimed that Silvestri left a cruel rant on Northeast Ohio Wedding Professionals Only Facebook page.

Her post started with, “and people have wondered why I have scaled back my photography business.” Silvestre also mentioned how extremely difficult it was to achieve Pinterest worthy lovey-dovey photos when people can’t get their heads together.

I didn’t pay her $150 to have her make fun of me on a side,” Liepold said.
