BREAKING: Quantum Leap Actor Dean Stockwell Dies Aged 85


Renowned television actor Dean Stockwell has passed away at the age of 85.

The veteran actor passed away on Sunday morning peacefully at his residence due to natural causes, confirmed a representative.

Stockwell was best known for his famous project where he starred as Admiral Al Calavicci in the iconic television series called ‘Quantum Leap’. With a career spanning more than 70 years, many still recall his brilliant performances and iconic dialogues.

Similarly, the actor starred alongside Scott Bakula in all of the sci-fi shows that aired over a span of over five years, that is 1989 to 1993 to be exact.

Stockwell was critically acclaimed for his mighty role and even earned a massive four Emmy nominations where he received the award for best actor in a supporting role at the Golden Globes which took place in 1990.

In the same way, he was renowned for his work on the big screen, where he managed to bag an Oscar nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Tony ‘The Tiger’ Russo in the movie ‘Married to Mob’ of 1988.

The actor also had a number of other iconic roles in films such as Dune, Paris, Texas, Beverly Hills Cop, Blue Velvet, To Live and Die in LA, and Air Force One.

He managed to find later success when he opted to join the cast for the film Battlestar Galactica in the year 2006 and even went about starring in the series till the year 2009.

The famous acting legend originally began his career in the year 1940 where he performed as a child actor under a contract that was related to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
