Dangerous fugitive, identified as Joshua James Gloria, is shot dead after a highway chase that consisted of 30 yards.
He was caught in the act of stealing a California cop’s motorcycle, which resulted in his death moments right after.
Brian Burch, the California officer who initially stopped him, had to hail him down through multiple bullets firing created by the homicide suspect. This caused the officer to shoot back at him, stumbling on his feet before returning fire.
There was a total of five shots that shot at Gloria before he fell to his death, being left on the side of the rode on March 24th.
Before his death, police tried to chase him in order to question him about an armed robbery that happened recently in San Francisco.
The video that has been released to the public shows Officer Burch driving towards the criminal, Gloria , after he got news that his license plate had been activated on a reader camera nearby.
The results that were given were shocking, it revealed that the SUV Garcia was driving had been reported stolen and was being used in an armed robbery, hence the beginning of the chase.
After following Gloria into a shopping center, he asked for him to pull over in front of a Ross. You could hear Burch telling Garcia, “Hey pull in, stop, pull over man.”
Gloria does not listen to the officer’s order, speeding up as Burch follows him in pursuit. He follows along at the speed of 84 mph, reaching the highway before Gloria finally pulls over but proceeds to run away from the officer. Once they are stopped, Gloria turns around with his firearm in his hand, opening fire towards the cop.
This is when Burch stops and informs dispatchers in the area, falling down into the grass to avoid the shooting. After stumbling on his feet and pushing himself up once again, the officer shoots at the criminal who also tried to steal his motorcycle, resulting in the suspect dying at the scene.
There was an arrest warrant on Gloria for attempted homicide alongside possessing a firearm illegally as he is labeled a felon. Not only was he wanted for those reasons, but had tried shooting someone several times while at a gambling hall. The victim in the situation had survived, only sustaining injuries to the back of the head.
