Brad Pitt is ‘heartbroken’ and saddened after it was reported that Angelina Jolie is ready to ‘provide proof’ of domestic abuse.
Documents obtained by The Blast show that Jolie and her children are willing to give testimonies and ‘proof and authority’ to support her allegations.
Reports say that an alleged argument between Pitt and son Maddox in 2016 had been the last straw for Jolie.
A source close to Brad told Page Six that the actor is “heartbroken that Angelina has gone that route. There’s a lot of emotion left after their marriage.”
“He has taken responsibility for his actions and owned up to his past issues, he’s stopped drinking,” the source continued.
“The marriage was very passionate and toxic at times and — like all couples — they had fights, but also shared many good times together. He has talked about his drink and drug problems during the time they were together.”
After the couple filed for divorce in 2016, the actor was investigated by social services and the FBI amid reports that he got “verbally abusive and physical with his children” on a private jet.
“Brad and his camp has never attacked Angelina. But his camp feels this leak was calculated to sway opinion ahead of the conclusion of their trial,” the source further said.
“Brad feels like he’s being more and more isolated from his children, and he’s devastated about it.”
Pitt and Jolie share Maddox, 19, Zahara, 16, Pax, 17, Shiloh, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12.
Sources said that the children have been interviewed by therapists appointed by the court.
