Isaac, a British man was visiting his girlfriend Camila who is a Native American but found himself locked up inside a windowless room for almost 24 hours and then he was sent back to his nation without seeing his girlfriend along with a ban that restricts him from entering the US for life.
And all this mess happened just because of a text he sent to his girlfriend.
While having an argument where they almost broke up, to convince his girlfriend he texted her that he will be moving to the US to be with her. Although he was only visiting her for 3 months, three months is a long time to mention as “visiting”.
At the airport, the security staff arrested him and took him to a windowless room where he was investigated for 24 long hours.
He was charged with an accusation that said he was planning to live in the country for the long term on a travel visa. Although he tried to explain the context of the text, the officers did not listen to him.
He said “They took my phone and started going through it. They read my texting with my girlfriend and got stuck on this one text I sent.
I just wanted to let her know that I can be there for her and I was going to visit her for 3 months but 3 months is a long time just to call a visit. I started losing it and cried a few tears because they had started talking about my relationship.”
Isaac was sent back to the UK without meeting his girlfriend. He had come to visit her on their 1st year anniversary. The poor fellow had no idea it will become the most memorable trip for him.
