A 3-year-old boy uses his toy truck to deliver meals to healthcare workers.
Theo Jenkins from South Wales decided to use it by helping our brave frontliners. His parents, 29-year-old Fran and 32-year-old Leam, couldn’t be any prouder!
Fran said in an interview: “We got the idea because he said that he wanted to make people smile. We’re just so proud that he cheered people up, they really deserve it.”
Young Theo, who loves lorries and the emergency services, was given the toy truck as a Christmas present. He also put a ‘Home Bargains’ logo on it as he also wants to work there just like his dad.
“He loves the police and lorries and his dad is an essential worker so he understands that they have got to go to work and wanted to help them,” his mother added.
Residents at the Haven care home in Llanelli are also thrilled to see Theo in his truck.
A student at Ysgol Pen Rhos, Theo drives to the local care home where he drops off treats to carers.
“The reaction was amazing, the staff and residents at the care home were so happy to see him and it was lovely to put a smile on their faces.”
Theo also drives to the ambulance station in Coedcae where he drops food to staff and paramedics working at the station.
“We’re really proud of him, obviously he is only three so doesn’t know much about what is going on but he understands that there’s a ‘baddie’ going on at the moment that won’t let him see his friends,” Fran expressed, speaking about the coronavirus pandemic.
“He knows he’s not allowed to go to school because the man on the TV says that he can’t so we’re doing our best to keep him entertained. We’re just so proud that he cheered people up, they really deserve it.”
