A 15-year-old boy from Texas was arrested after he was caught on camera spitting into a tea bottle and placing it back on the shelf.
According to Corporal Steve LeSueur, cops were dispatched to Albertsons supermarket after a staff saw the horrendous act.
He said he watched the CCTV footage with another officer and saw the boy take an Arizona tea bottle, put his mouth on it, and placed it back on the shelf.
The officer said that the teen told him he put the bottle back because it tasted bad, CBS 7 reported.
The 15-year-old faces a charge of tampering with a consumer product. He is being held in the Ector County Youth Center.
A similar incident also happened in Texas when a woman filmed herself licking an icecream before putting it back in a freezer.
One internet user commented: “i have been checking my ice cream before i buy it and i have been getting it from the back of the shelve. i will now do the same with everything that i buy. This is something i should not need to do when food shopping but is forced into it.”
Another wrote: “What social media does to people. I say we start a trend of hurling dummies off bridges as real people to see if they’ll survive once they land. Stage as if not only did they survive, but they landed on their feet. Let’s see how many idiot lemmings follow behind. That’ll thin the herd really quick.”
A third said: “You can be jailed for 20 years for food tampering. People need to wake up these are some serious charges .”
