6-Year-Old Boy With Spina Bifida Already Raised Over $200,000 For The NHS After Being Inspired By Captain Moore


Frank Mills, the 6-year-old boy with spina bifida who was inspired by Captain Moore to walk and raise funds for the NHS, has already raised over $200,000 as of this writing.

The story of young Frank from Bristol, the UK, first came to light after the boy bravely crossed 10 meters of the pavement in front of his home despite his struggles with walking.

According to the family, the 6-year-old was inspired to walk in order to raise funds for the NHS by World War II veteran Captain Tom Moore.

While his initial goal was to raise £99 ($122), Frank managed to inspire thousands of people to donate to his cause and raised over $200,000 as of this writing.

The boy has also suggested he’s going to try and walk 10 meters every day.

“I have been inspired to walk 10 metres outside my house, with my walking frame, by Captain Tom Moore,” the boy’s JustGiving page reads.

Speaking of Frank’s mission, proud mother Janet confirmed her son got inspired to make a difference after seeing Captain Moore struggle to finish 100 laps around his home.

“Frank just said: ‘I want to do that!’ So we grabbed hold of that magic moment of motivation and we took his walker outside for him,” Janet said.

“Frank’s enthusiasm was not just surprising but invigorating and as he shouted at one of our neighbors to sponsor him, we thought why not? Maybe we could get some friends and family to support Frank.

“We quickly put something up on JustGiving and shared the link on Facebook, and from that moment it took off! We cannot believe how people are responding.”
