A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot by the police after planning to burn a café and attacking officers with a knife.
The incident took place in Kukmor, Russia, where Vitaly Antopov, 16, was planning a sick attack on a café where they play music and sell alcohol.
In a grisly video the teenager made before carrying out his plan, he said he was going to burn “a vile, devilish place.”
“May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you. I’m now going, to blow up… or I mean to burn a cafe, where they… listen to music… A club where they sell alcohol… Such a vile, devilish place. Inshallah, it will be destroyed,” Vitaly, whose mother is allegedly a devout Muslim, said.
As BAZA media reported, they only released a part of the teen’s video due to sensitive content and calls for an attack on the authorities present in other parts of the footage.
After making the chilling recording, the teenager reportedly changed his mind and chose to attack a local police station instead of the café.
As news agency Interfax confirmed, Vitaly attempted to set the police station on fire while shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and referring to the police officers as ‘infidels’.
The teen was fatally shot by the police after shouting ‘I am going to kill you all’ and stabbing an officer with his knife.
According to the reports, the 16-year-old died from gunshot wounds before the paramedics arrived at the scene.
Following the attack, the police officer who was stabbed by the teen three times was rushed to the hospital for treatment. His life is reportedly not in danger.
As the Investigative Committee of Russia confirmed, the attack on the police station is being treated as an “attempted terrorist act.”
