A healthy young boy tragically passed away only moments after asking if he could watch Transformers.
4-year-old David George was found unconscious by his dad, Ian George, and paramedics were immediately called to their home.
Sadly, little David was declared dead upon arriving at the hospital.
His mother, Debbie Park, said they were heartbroken and that David’s sister and brother had been hit hard by David’s sudden death.
“He closed his eyes and went to heaven,” Park said to the Daily Record. “He wasn’t in pain and hadn’t been unwell.
“He just died with no warning or reason.”
David had died of sudden unexpected death in childhood (SUDC) after falling asleep. Medical experts use this cause of death when they cannot find any other causes.
The four-year-old boy had been playing with his siblings when he asked if he could watch his favorite movie.
But when his father went into his room, he found David unconscious and contacted paramedics who were unable to save his life.
“We’re heartbroken. Absolutely devastated. I don’t know how I’ll carry on without him,” Park expressed. “He was my baby. I just want him back. I’d do anything to have him here.
“I just feel so lucky to have been his mummy. I know it’s better to have loved and lost than not loved at all.
“I will cherish the four brilliant years we had together for the rest of my life.”
One internet user commented: “Absolute nightmare for the family. You do all the right things. Decent loving family. Everything for a good future. Only unwanted but loving memories.”
Another wrote: “Absolutely heartbreaking. After pregnancy, delivery and newborn you think you’ve entered a safer phase for them. The poor family, my heart goes out to them.”
A third added: “Worst thing in life is losing a child, beautiful boy, you were taken to young.”
