A 2-year-old boy and his newborn sister were left alone to fend for themselves for three whole days after their parents were killed in their Virginia home.
Bodycam footage played in court during a preliminary hearing showed deputies arriving at the bloody scene as they discovered the dead bodies of Rachel Ozuna, 34, her boyfriend, Michael Coleman, 39, and Rachel’s teenage son, Kyrrus Ozuna, 14.
According to WRC-TV, all three victims had their throats slashed.
Investigators believe that the killings were a result of a ‘drug deal gone bad’ as Coleman was alleged to have been trading huge amounts of cocaine. Officers also found equipment used to pack kilo-sized packages of drugs.
Hugh Cameron Green, 31, Durward Anthony Allen, 29, and Montel Jaleek Wilson, 29, have all been charged with several counts of first-degree murder.
James Christopher Myers, 30, and Jamal Kelvin Bailey, 30, also face first-degree murder charges.
The murder charges against Green, Allen and Wilson were certified to Spotsylvania grand jury, The Free Lance-Star reported.
In the bodycam footage played during the preliminary hearing, Rachel can be seen lying face down in a pool of blood. Her two-year-old son was standing next to her body while her newborn baby girl was still in a swinging infant seat only a few feet away.
An officer then picked up the boy and the infant, taking them away from the horrific crime scene.
The two-year-old boy’s diaper was overflowing and both children suffered from dehydration.
The lead detective believes that the murder occurred on May 26, 2019, three days before officers found the bodies of the victims and rescued the two children.
