14-Year-Old Boy Passed Away After He ‘Lay Down In Front Of A Train’ As Horrified Students Gathered


A 14-year-old boy passed away after a train hit him at a Surrey station.

Sam Connor was killed by a train around 4 pm. Emergency services and police officers were called to the scene but the schoolboy was pronounced dead.

It was confirmed that Sam went to Salesian School in Chertsey and pupils and staff were in shock.

One mother said that the platform was ‘full of school children’ when the incident occurred.

“Officers were called to Chertsey station at 4 pm yesterday (July 15) following reports of a casualty on the tracks,” said the British Transport Police in a statement.

“Paramedics also attended but sadly a 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The headteacher of the school, James Kibble, said: “We were devastated to find out that, following an incident at Chertsey station, one of our Year 9 students died this afternoon.

“This is an incredibly difficult situation for everyone, but knowing the faith, compassion and strength of our school community, I am confident that we will work together to support one another.

“This will start from first thing tomorrow, and will be holding a series of assemblies to talk to the students about what has happened and how we can collectively come to terms with this tragedy.”

“We would ask that our community joins together to remember the student and their family in their prayers at this incredibly sad time.”

The school canceled its scheduled sports day as students grieve for the loss of their friend.
