A young boy who drove his grandmother to get medical help after she started feeling unwell while they were out has been praised for his bravery and heroism!
11-year-old PJ Brewer-Laye and his grandmother, Angela, were outside near their home when she suddenly experienced the symptoms of low blood pressure, including seeing spots in her vision and feeling shaky.
PJ, who was driving his go kart at that time, noticed his grandmother’s condition and knew exactly what he had to do.
The smart lad jumped out of his go kart and drove his grandma’s Mercedes so they could get medical assistance.
In an interview with 11Alive, Angela said: “I was leaning against a stop sign then all of a sudden I looked to my right and I saw my car, my Mercedes Benz coming towards me.
“Wait a minute. Looked in the car. It was him, it was PJ.”
She recalled: “He noticed my demeanor [and] that’s when I guess he sprung into action.”
The proud grandma praised her grandson for handling the situation and her vehicle like a ‘pro.’
“’He did not go up the curb, in the grass or nothing. Pulled down in the driveway and into the garage,” she said.
Angela also said that they always spend time together. “He always rides either his four-wheeler, go-kart or his dirt bike while I’m trying to get a little exercise in,” she shared.
PJ, who recently celebrated his 12th birthday, was dubbed a ‘hero’ after the incredible news spread throughout the community.
One person also wrote on social media: “I hope he continues through life with this beautiful spirit. He was meant to be there to help his grandmother. Happy birthday PJ and God bless you.”
Another wrote: “Now that’s the kind of good news I like to hear. Good for you PJ. May God continue to bless you.”
A third added: “PJ is smart and mature beyond his age. God bless him! Good job little man, you’re awesome!”
