A 24-year-old babysitter has been charged with capital murder after he told cops that he used ‘several wrestling-style moves’ on the 1-year-old baby who tragically died.

Marvin Rex Lake from Texas was arrested after Ahren Joshua DeHart died with a fractured skull, hemorrhaging of the lung, brain damage, and other injuries.

According to KFOX14, he initially told cops that he had no idea how the child was hurt.

However, he later admitted that he used ‘wrestling-style moves and a football hold’ on the child after he got upset that the young boy had torn a pillow.

Cops said that the babysitter later insisted: “I did not hurt his head. I only caused the internal injuries.”

Ahren was being watched by Lake, along with two other kids, while their mothers were at work.

In a video call with the mother of the other kids on April 13, the victim was still “in good health and alert, but was crying and fussy.”

But only four hours later, Lake called the second mother and told her that Ahren had ‘rag dolled’ and puked something red.

The one-year-old boy died on April 16.

Authorities discovered that the other children in his care were also found with injuries.

Ahren’s uncle, Lawrence DeHart, said: “Ahren was on life support and on Friday, at around 2:30 p.m. we were all there at the hospital and they decided to disconnect everything and let him pass away.

“Never in my life did I think I, my family, a 20-year-old newly married couple with almost an exact 1 year-old baby would have to live through this.”

Lake remains in jail with no bond.
