A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after a Colorado mother tragically died on February 20.
32-year-old Pamela Cabriales was driving her 2008 Land Rover SUV at around 10:45 pm when multiple shots were fired into her car.
At least one bullet hit the mother of one in the head, and she passed away in a hospital only days later.
According to The Denver Post, a witness said that the suspect was standing next to a Honda and fired multiple shots into the mother’s car.
It is not clear why Cabriales was targeted but eight bullet holes were discovered in the windshield and two shell casings were found near the car.
The teen is now facing two first-degree murder counts, a criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault with extreme indifference, and a criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder with extreme indifference.
18-year-old Neshan Johnson, who is suspected of being the driver of the four-door Honda, has also been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
He is also facing a count of criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault with extreme indifference, a count of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder with extreme indifference, and one count of vehicular eluding.
The teens were arrested the day after the tragic incident as a cop recognized their vehicle from a separate shooting at a fast-food restaurant.
According to CBS4, a passenger in the same four-door Honda pointed a gun at McDonald’s workers and opened fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Cops followed the car before it crashed through a chain-link fence and knocked a fire hydrant down.
Johnson managed to run away on foot but he was later found behind a shed. Two teens were arrested from the vehicle.
As for the third suspect, no charges have been announced yet.
