A four-year-old bought $849 worth of snacks from his mother’s phone while she was sleeping.
The toddler ordered 990 mini salamis, 1,200 Bakewell tarts, 24 rashes of bacon, and 120 Viennese swirls.
His father Gareth Lewis shared the hilarious incident on Twitter and said his son nearly caused a national food shortage after getting a hold of his mother’s phone.
The four-year-old even booked a delivery slot.
The father revealed on Twitter that his four-year-old almost bought 990 mini salamis, 1,200 Bakewell tarts, 24 rashes of bacon, Fab ice lollies, and 120 Viennese swirls from Tesco worth $849.
He wrote on Twitter: “My 4-year-old nearly caused national food shortage this morning. Got hold of mum’s phone while she slept and ordered 990 mini Peperamis, and a combined 1200 Bakewell tarts and Fab ice lollies from Tesco. Total order £451.27. Even booked a delivery slot.”
When Gareth asked why he ordered so much food, he replied: “I wanted to have more food than everyone else.”
Gareth told him they didn’t have enough money to spend on food but the toddler replied he had some and pulled 14p from his pocket and handed it to his dad.
Gareth added: “I told him we didn’t have quite enough money to spend £450 on food and he said that was fine because he had some, and proceeded to pull 14p from his pocket.”
When the story went viral online, Peperami offered to send a big care package of Peperami for the cheeky toddler and his family.
Peperami told the cheeky child to leave some Peperami for the rest of the people in the UK.
Peperami wrote: “To the Mini-Meathead who tried to order 990 Peperamis(!!!). Let me just say, you’ve got GREAT taste!!”
Peperami later confirmed they are sending 100 sticks for the child who tried to empty his local Tesco.
