Any construction workers would tell you that they never know what they find once they start digging.
From various kinds of fossils to valuable minerals, anything is possible.
But, I bet what was discovered nearby the Seaport District in Boston will blow the minds of these skilled workers as well.
As a part of the plan to build a 17-story building, people started excavation work – only to find something highly unusual 25 feet below ground.
At first, they did not know what it was, so they started to dig around it.
Then, constructions workers yelled out “Stop!” repeatedly.
What they uncovered was a 19-century-made ship, which was about 50 feet long.

Based on the remains of lime found in the bottom of the ship, the city archeologist Joe Bagley speculates that it probably traveled from Maine to Boston.
“Nothing like this has been found in Boston, in filled-in ground, before.
This is incredibly amazing,” said Bagley to the Boston Globe.
Now, Skanska Construction, the company working on site, stopped its plans for the 17-story office building in order to cooperate with the city and examine this shipwreck.
According to Bagley, because the ship is too old, and they only have limited time, they won’t be able to remove the ship fully intact. Instead, the city officials plan to take photos and scan the site in order to create 3-D documents to share with the public.
Until all the information is prepared, Bagley has been updating the public by uploading various photos of the ship to the city archaeology department’s Facebook and Twitter.
