This comes as Biden officials blame the former administration for the crisis at the border, the Daily Mail reported.

In an interview with Fox News, a senior CBP source said that Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector consider releasing migrants into the US without an official court date.

This means migrants who illegally crossed the border would be released from custody into the country. The change in the process comes as asylum seekers flocked to the southern border, with almost 100,000 people in February, compared to only 16,182 migrants in April last year.

The source continued: “(It has) become so dire that (Border Patrol) has no choice but to release people nearly immediately after apprehension because there is no space to hold people even to do necessary NTA paperwork.”

If it goes into effect, the procedure of skipping the official Notice to Appear would not apply to unaccompanied children, the outlet reported.

The Biden administration also considers flying migrants to states near the Canadian border for further processing, according to The Washington Post.

CNN reported that President Joe Biden was disappointed in his officials for not being able to properly shelter and process the huge increase of migrants at the southern border.

“He was disappointed that we hadn’t gotten answers from other agencies faster or that (the facilities) wouldn’t be ready for children faster,” the senior administration official said.

“He made it pretty clear that there were times when he didn’t think we were moving fast enough,” the official added.
