Former Bond girl Britt Ekland, 78, admitted that she ‘ruined her face’ by getting lip fillers.
She also described the procedure as ‘the biggest mistake of her life.’
In an interview with Platinum magazine, the Swedish actress said she would never have any more plastic surgery after the unsatisfying procedure in Paris.
“Everyone has the right to choose (surgery). I did all of that in my 50s but wouldn’t consider it again. I have no desire to look any different than I am,” Britt said.
The former Bond girl shared how she made the appointment with a Paris-based doctor to have her lips plumped.
But instead of getting a moderate treatment she anticipated, the doctor injected Articol all around the rim of her lips.
Wendy Lewis, an international consultant in cosmetic surgery, told Daily Mail that Articol is bovine collagen that was in vogue for a short period of time as a lip plumper and a filler in the 90s.
The use of Articol is now regarded as risky and it was never approved for use in the US.
“The effects are permanent. Today, most doctors don’t want to use it,” Lewis said.
Speaking about the incident, Britt claimed she ‘felt like I’d ruined my face’ and said that she is no longer wants to have cosmetic surgery that will maintain her appearance as she is content growing older.
“I feel great now, better than I have for many years… getting older happens to everyone. It’s pointless complaining about it or wishing you could change,” she said.
“We’re all going in one direction and there is nothing we can do about that.. It’s just about looking after yourself while on that journey,” Britt added.
