Stunning images show a humpback whale breaching from the Pacific Ocean bursting out in the sea near a boat with an unsuspecting angler. On seeing the video, you will realize, if it were you in his place, you would have definitely freaked out.
The occurrence took place on April 27 in Monterey Bay, Calif, where there were hundreds of vessels fishing.
A photographer named Douglas Croft clicked multiple photographs of the event. The 60-year-old experienced snapper was excited about his achievement.
He claimed that the season of salmon corresponds to the time when the humpback whales return to the bay to feed during the summer season.
The shutterbug clicked the series of pictures on another boat from a porthole below deck. This gave the perception of looking up at the whale spin through the air.
Croft added that the boat should have looked larger than the whale because of its closeness. But it looks bigger because it is huge.
Around 60,000 humpback whales swim in the planet’s oceans. They are known to travel large distances, even 5,000 miles for the purpose of breeding.
Kate Cummings, a whale-watcher, was working with the photographer. He said that it was because of a little intuition that they were able to click photographs of such a stunning spectacle.
Cummings told that they noticed the whale breach several times further away from the fisherman. According to his knowledge, when whales breach multiple times, they are usually heading towards a certain direction.
Therefore, they figured that the whale would breach somewhere near the fisherman as it was headed in the same direction.
In spite of such an amazing video, Kate said that he did not expect the boat and the whale to line up so wonderfully.
The video became a big hit. After all, who does not like seeing whales leaping above the surface of the water! Moreover, in this case, the boat with the fisherman was just a bonus to it.
