An Elderly Lady Was Left In Tears When Bin Collectors Surprised Her With A Cake On Her 100th Birthday

An elderly lady got a pleasant surprise on her 100th birthday by the most unexpected people – the bin collectors of her area.

The kind folks brought a cake for her to celebrate her birthday, as can be seen in a now-viral video on social media.

The group of men knocked at the door of their favorite customer, Mercy, and waited for the birthday lady to come while singing ‘happy birthday’ to her.

Mercy, 100, was left astonished at the kind gesture.

The video shows the pensioner crying tears of joy in response to the incredibly kind act from the binmen. The group asked the lady to make a wish and blow out the candles.

One of them jokingly suggested her to make a wish ‘to live until 105.’

The clip was originally posted on the Reddit thread ‘HumansBeingBros’ by a user named Boldstyle1.

Wearing their high visibility jackets, the men were seen lighting candles on the cake they brought with them.

Mercy was so surprised that she was about to lose her balance and had to tightly get hold of her walking stick. The binmen continued cheering and clapping as they presented her the cake.

After making sure that the lady had recovered from the sudden shock of amazement, they asked her to blow out the candles.

The Reddit users admitted that they couldn’t hold their tears after seeing this incredible act of kindness.

Confessing their feelings on the thread, one user wrote: “I’m not crying you’re crying.”

“I am crying,” another person commented.

One user said: “I’m at work and this almost made me shed a tear. Good lord this so precious.”

Someone remarked: “Awesome bros! Wish more people would be like this. So many elderly people alone wanting nothing more than a little company and attention.”
