“Feeling better now. Nothing is going to make it all better. But at least, God, now there’s some justice,” Biden expressed after he was put on the speaker by the Floyd family’s lead attorney, Benjamin Crump.

Referencing the comments of George Floyd’s daughter Gianna, who previously said her daddy would change the world, Biden confirmed that “he’s going to start to change it now.”

As it happens, this wasn’t the president’s first call to the Floyd family amid Derek Chauvin’s trial, whereas Biden previously rang the family’s phone on Monday when the outcome was still uncertain.

“We’ve been watching every second of this, and the vice president, all of us.  We were all so relieved, not just one verdict but all three,” he added during his phone call today.

“It’s really important. I’m anxious to see you guys, I really am.  We’re going to get a lot more done. We’re going to stay at it until we get it done.”

After Attorney Crump pushed Biden to get the George Floyd policing act signed, Biden promised that this and a lot more would follow as he said the verdict gave them “a fresh shot at dealing with genuine systemic racism.”

“This is a day of justice in America. History will look back at this moment and know that it was an inflection moment. We’re going to make something good come out of this tragedy, okay?” she said.
