For those who are jumping over the border and targeting cities that are not safe for them to live in, DHS head is starting to prosecute those that are not following administration regulations.

Under the Title 9 Section 1325 that Alejandro Mayorkas, DHS secretary, mentions, it is a crime to enter the U.S. illegally and if one were to re-enter the country after being convicted, it is labeled as a felony.

While working with ICE employees, Mayorkas will try to take on sanctuary cities that do not want to work with the rules, turning over the illegal immigrants that have been hiding out in nearby towns.

He continues to mention that he is opposed to some progressive immigration and border protection policies, such as the push to abolish ICE completely.

He comments, “It is the opposite of what I think needs to occur. I think we need to strengthen our policies and practices and communicate more effectively what we do and why we do it,”

Ever since Biden made the announcement for Harris to help deal with the immigrant plans, she has visited Connecticut, California, and Illinois in order to promote the American Rescue Plan that is being put to action.

In addition to Biden’s plan, Mayorkas is planning to work on a new set of guidelines so that there is a more effective way to supervise IC officers’ arrests and attempts to deport illegal immigrants. Without worrying about public resistance, he comments that ICE has a ‘noble mission’ to serve.
