The incident happened at around 1am on Sunday.

As soon as the Coal City Fire Department was informed of the incident, they rushed to the Freedom Ministries Church in Grandview.

The fire was so devastating that even the firefighters had to move back at one point.

All the things in the church were burnt to ashes, except for a row of bibles which were later discovered underneath the rubble. Moreover, a crucifix hanging on a wall was also left totally intact.

Following the incident, the Coal City Fire Department took to social media to share the ‘miracle’ with other people.

‘On March 3 around 12:58am our department was dispatched to assist Beaver VFD with a structure fire at the Freedom Ministries Church, located in Grandview WV,’ they wrote on Facebook.

‘Though odds were against us, God was not.

‘Picture this, a building so hot that at one point in time, firefighters had to back out. In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes.

‘Not a single bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed!! Not a single firefighter was hurt! Prayers for the pastor and the congregation today.’

Several devoted Christians responded in gratitude on the fire department’s Facebook post and thanked them for their timely effort.

Jennifer White wrote: ‘We had a fire in a loft above our garage growing up. We had a picture of Jesus on a wall where the fire started.

‘Everything was on fire. But the picture of Jesus never caught on fire. God is so good.’

Barbara Mitchell commented: ‘He said heaven and earth shall pass away but his word will always stand there it.’

According to CBS, the reason behind the fire isn’t yet known.
