Beyoncé shared a public message of support for the Duchess of Sussex after the tell-all interview with Oprah.
The singer praised the former actress and posted it on her website two days after the bombshell Oprah interview.
“Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership,” the Grammy winner, 39, wrote.
“We are all strengthened and inspired by you,” Beyoncé, who is believed to have met the Duchess on one occasion, added.
The singer also shared a photo that showed her meeting Meghan at the premiere of the Lion King in 2019.
Beyoncé shared another post praising 12 women who broke the rules. The Duchess of Sussex was one of the women featured in the post, alongside Democrat politicians Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Maxine Waters, and Stacey Abrams, and Jane Fonda.
“For those who created their own way to tell their stories, found other avenues to get to the destinations, and broke every rule in the process, We See You! We salute each and every one of you on this International Women’s Day,” Beyoncé wrote.
The Lion King premiere in 2019 was reportedly the first time that Beyoncé and Meghan had met.
Prince Harry, Disney boss Bob Iger, and Jay-Z were present during the meeting.
As the singer and duchess were having a conversation, Harry was caught on camera telling Iger that his wife was “interested” in performing voiceover work.
Meghan’s introduction to Beyoncé “marked the culmination of a long process to orchestrate a meeting,” magazine Grazia reported.
“Meghan had been a fan of the singer for years – she used to post tributes on her now-deleted Instagram account – and has long thought of her as a dream dinner guest,” the magazine said at that time.
