Any weight loss journey is an inspiring one because it inspires us to think that we can attain the same achievements and get the dream body we’ve always been striving for. But more than that, celebrities who are faced with weight issues also resonate well with fans because, if even celebrities can struggle with weight yet conquer them, then our own struggles should also be conquerable as well.

Actually, celebrities face even more pressure to look fit and fab because their “perfect” looks and bodies are one of their main selling points. That’s why Beyoncé had to delay headlining the Coachella festival by one year, first because she became pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir (both now two years old) and second because she had to get back in shape for a public performance.

Now, in a new YouTube video, Beyoncé gives fans an inside look at how she managed her weight loss journey on her way to finally performing at Coachella in April 2018.

The two-and-a-half-minute clip begins with the star on the weighing scale at 5 am, just before the first day of rehearsals for Coachella.

Pointing the camera downwards, she says, “Every woman’s nightmare. This is my weight – 175 [pounds]. Long way to go. Let’s get it.”

Beyoncé continued: “I’m back on the stage after giving birth to twins. I was a woman that felt like my body was not mine.”

But thanks to her trainer, exercise physiologist Marco Borges, Beyoncé was able to implement a 100% plant-based diet that helped her lose all that unwanted weight. Called “22 Days Nutrition,” the diet gives people “access to tools and foods that empower everyone to become their healthiest self through proper nutrition.”

“We know the power of vegetables, we know the power of plants, we know the power of foods that are unprocessed,” Borges says in the video. “Plant-based is really about eliminating all of the over-processed foods that don’t do us any good anyway.”

He added that plant-based meals are ideal for people with long and intense training regimens because people get more energy and have better moods with a plant-based diet.

Beyoncé further narrated, “It’s time to work, so I have to get in that zone. Me getting the weight off was so much easier than getting back in shape, and my body feeling comfortable.”

The food that Beyoncé ate was also highlighted such as soups, smoothies, and salads composed of grains and pulses. It also showed the intense preparation in the lead up to Coachella.

Towards the end of the clip as Beyoncé tries out her “Wonder Woman costume,” Borges can be heard saying, “Seriously, you look amazing.”
