Dog Overjoyed As He Finally Got Adopted After Spending Months In Shelter

As an animal lover and an owner of a shelter dog myself, nothing warms my heart more than seeing a shelter dog being adopted.

For every shelter dog, the idea of finding their forever home where they can finally be free again is a dream. On December 10th, 2015, the dream came true for Benny when he was taken home and loved ever since. As you will see in the video not even Benny could believe he was going home.

Carson Animal Care center is an animal shelter based in Los Angeles, CA. For many dogs this is but a pit stop until their home, but not all dogs are so lucky. Due to a lack of proper funding and too many animals, the shelter is unfortunately high-kill. This means that they euthanize many of the pets that come through the door if they’re not adopted quickly.

For breeds like pit bulls, this is can be bad because they often take a little bit longer to find loving homes due to the stigma that pit bulls are inherently dangerous. No matter how many articles come out showing how loving and caring they can be.

In the beginning of the video, you can see that Benny is very much scared of being in the shelter, but you can also see that he’s a very sweet and loving dog.point 217 |

Benny is a pit bull which means many people unfortunately passed over him thinking he was aggressive.point 85 | But as you’re about to see in the video, Benny is anything but dangerous.point 151 | 1

Benny sat at the Carson Animal shelter for weeks and it seemed like all hope was lost. Everyday he watched countless families walk right past his kennel and numerous other dogs get adopted while he waited patiently. Benny didn’t understand why no one gave him a chance to show his true colors..

But then his new family walked through the door.point 40 | This amazing family saw Benny for what he is, a loving and playful dog who just needed the right family to love.point 131 | They instantly fell in love with Benny and adopted him right then and there.point 194 | At the beginning you can see Benny himself can’t even believe it has finally happened.point 272 |

But when Benny is walking down the hall towards the exit, he finally realizes that he is finally going home.point 89 |  I admit I teared up at how beautiful it was to see his reaction.point 142 | It’s so heartwarming to see shelter dogs given the second chance they deserve and especially a pit bull.point 235 | 1
