According to Philip Tierno, MD, director of Microbiology and Immunology at New York University, bacteria can live on your clothes for weeks or even months.
Tierno adds that it is not the case with used clothes only even your brand-new clothes can be contaminated with germs, so it is recommended to change the clothes which you have wearing for around 12 hours and you should not even exempt your guests from this rule.
2. Infections, rashes, acne, and even fleas can be caused by wearing your clothes which you wear while going outside as well
Our clothes pick up dust, sweat and dead skin as our body secrete a liter of sweat and around half, a million skin cells. Greasy clothes become the reason for acne on our body and our bed acts as a communication platform for dirt and germs.
3. Outside clothes get in touch with almost everything
Only think about what hit your outer clothes: subway tables, office chairs, bar stools, lift walls, park benches … Now think about how many more people were there! You want them to sit on your bed as well?

4. Your bed is a comfort zone and a security zone but not with outer clothes
