Former President Barack Obama paid a heartwarming tribute to his wife, who just turned 57.
He shared a throwback picture of his ‘best friend’ from the 1990s on Instagram and Twitter, alongside the sweet caption: “Happy birthday to my love, my partner, and my best friend. Every moment with you is a blessing.
“Love you, Miche.”
Obama was joined by other well-wishers including Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, actors Regina King and Viola Davis, and the UN Women who thanked the former first lady for “inspiring the women of today.”
Harris took to Twitter and posted a photo of herself with the birthday celebrant and wrote: “Thank you for pouring every ounce of yourself into empowering the next generation of leaders. Our country, and myself, are better off because of you.”
The UN Women, an entity dedicated for gender equality, also said: “Thank you for inspiring the women of today and the girls who will lead us into the future.”
Viola Davis also greeted Mrs. Obama and said: “Thank you for your authenticity, beauty, courage, intelligence and loyalty. You’re OUR hero, sis!! I hope to honor you and all you are in my portrayal of you! Love ya.”

Michelle was 25 when she met Barack Obama in 1989 after she was assigned as his mentor, who was 27 at that time.
She initially refused to accept his offer of a date but they eventually went on long walks, a picnic, a movie, and a tour of the Art Institute.
The couple tied the knot in 1992 and have two beautiful daughters, Malia, 22, and Sasha, 19.
