A 78-year-old woman whose hair loss had significantly reduced her self-esteem and caused her to avoid mirrors and photos for two decades broke down in tears after hair replacement treatment.

Brenda Vickers from Walkergate, Newcastle, visited hair replacement company Novo Cabelo to have her receding hairline and damaged confidence fixed.

Novo Cabelo owner Rob then took to TikTok and shared a clip of the beautiful moment.

In the viral TikTok video, Rob can be seen attaching ‘hair system,’ which is made with real hair.

Blindfolded Brenda couldn’t help but sob when she finally saw the finished work.

“Have I got all this hair?” she asked.

The clip has been viewed more than 500,000 times, with many people finding it so emotional and saying Brenda now looks 20 years younger than her age.

Brenda said the amazing transformation boosted her confidence and she can now visit stores more often.

“It feels good that I don’t have to be self-conscious when I go out. I don’t have to feel embarrassed anymore and think ‘I don’t want to look at myself,’” she expressed.

“It’s changed everything. I’ll go out more now because I can feel confident and that’s an unbelievable feeling. Everybody who I’ve spoken to has been so complimentary and kind.”

Speaking to Daily Star, the pensioner said: “My head should be massive. People have been saying I look 20 years younger, but I’ve still got the brain of a 78-year-old. My body is old but my hair is young. I’ve not seen myself look like this for so long.”

Her husband 81-year-old Brian, was also shocked at the result.

“It’s like being married to someone 20 years younger. It’s a good job I’ve still got plenty of hair as well,” he said.

“(The transformation) is beautiful, so I’m so pleased for her. It’s spot on. You couldn’t ask for anything better.”
