Chris Mansour is the co-owner of One Way Lebanese Bakery in Lalor, Melbourne.

Chris started his generous food donation 13 years ago when he saw homeless people searching for edibles in a garbage pile outside his establishment.

The man was deeply moved by the situation and decided to help as much as he could.

Chris’ generosity has since gone viral and he is carrying it on with full zeal and zest. Every day, when he goes back from work, he fills bags of tabbouleh, baklava and other tasty treats to donate them to the needy.

People who live on the footpaths around his bakery line up in front of the establishment to get some delicious things to eat.

Chris says he has donated $100,000 worth of food so far, and that the food he gives away is not old or unfit for sale. It can be sold as frozen food.

Chris says he donates the food just because he can. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, he said: “How can you see someone hungry and not give them food if you have it?

“It feels amazing when you see people in need, who might otherwise be going without food, happy because of what we have been doing.”

The homeless folks come to the bakery as hungry starving people and leave with smiles and stuff to satisfy their appetites.

Chris’ shop sells specialty Lebanese pastries and pizzas, and they have allocated a percentage of the left-over food to be donated to the homeless.

Chris said there were cases of people trying to take advantage of their charitable work but that is not going to stop them from serving the needy.

Encouraging the spirit of charity, he said: “I would love to encourage everyone, if you can help, to do so.

“If you can see someone smile because of something you did, then why not do it?”
