The parents said that their child was suffering from dry skin so they were given a steroid cream.

But they only realized that something was not right when their baby’s face ballooned and started growing hair two months later.

The five-month-old girl was admitted to a hospital in China, where doctors were left baffled after the parents said that their baby was only receiving breastmilk.

The parents were then told to reduce their child’s food intake, but the problem only got worse.

Their baby had grown dark hair on her cheeks and forehead and she had ballooned to double her size.

She was then transferred to a specialist hospital where four other babies had also been suffering from the same issues.

After further examination, it was found that the product contained 30mg of clobetasol propionate, which should only be used for a short period of time.

But the little girl had been given the cream for two months and doctors said that the hormones she absorbed will be difficult to discharged. It may also take several years for the hair growth to fall out.

The product has since been pulled from shelves in China.

“Selling creams directly to the public that contain strong steroids is illegal and they are potentially dangerous if they are used without medical supervision.

“Steroids must only be prescribed by healthcare professionals who follow strict criteria when prescribing them and can monitor patients using them.”
