A baby elephant named Suki was rescued by the elephant rescuers of “The Chai Lai Orchid” after its mother was killed by poachers.

Now, Suki lives at the sanctuary of the organization and loves playing with her caretaker Lisa Harminton. She is 2-months-old and weighs 100 kilograms.
In this adorable video, Suki can be seen cuddling her caretaker, Lisa. She looks so happy with her caretaker in the video which has now gone viral.
The video received thousands of likes and comments as one wrote: ‘Playing with baby elephant is totally such a stress or depression killer and a happiness booster!! I wish I could pet an baby elephant for just 3 months and then give them back to its mom.’

“The Chai Lai Orchid” is a non-profit organization that rescues elephants and works to stop exploitation and trafficking of elephants and ivory.
The founder of “The Chai Lai Orchid” says: “Chai Lai Orchid is not a “sanctuary”. The term “sanctuary” is often misused by captive elephant facilities, in an effort to differentiate them from other places with alternative management styles. At present, no tourism-funded ASEAN elephant facility meets all the requirements that define a true sanctuary. But I do think of this place as a haven.”
“My hope for the future is that Thailand’s large domesticated elephant population can be used to maintain genetic diversity and help the survival of wild elephants in Thailand. If managed carefully, the tourist industry can ensure that large numbers of elephants will remain cared for and protected for the foreseeable future.”
