Her mother Stacey Smith, who is running out of food during the coronavirus pandemic, fears her daughter may starve amid lockdown.

Stacey spends £120 a week on buying the cheesy breadsticks from Dairylea Dunkers for her daughter who has many health problems.

However, Stacey feels the supermarkets may announce buying limits for one person soon so she is taking her family and friends’ help as they pick up the cheesy breadsticks when they go for shopping as Stacey and Alicia are in isolation.

Stacey said: “It really is a nightmare situation. At the minute we are okay but it’s not going to continue forever. We don’t know how long this lockdown is going to be for.”

She fears the supermarkets will soon introduce buying limits to stop stockpiling and her daughter may starve amid coronavirus lockdown.

Stacey said her daughter eats the breadsticks and not the cheese in each box. She has refused to eat anything else and relies only on one thing.

Her family and friends pick up the two packets of the breadsticks from Dairylea Dunkers for Alicia. Despite explaining Alicia’s condition, the supermarkets don’t allow them to pick up more.

Stacey said: “People have commented that ‘If she is hungry she will eat’ but she has had a number of health problems since she was born.”

Alicia suffered from gastroschisis when she was born, diagnosed with visual impairment when six-months-old, with autism when she was two, and liquid on the brain when she was four.

Stacey says her family and friends are currently helping her but they also have kids and some have started ordering the food online.

The situation is now concerning her as everybody’s in the same situation.

Stacey says people say nasty things about her daughter as they say she will end up blind because of her diet.

They also accuse Stacey of being a lazy parent but Stacey says she has tried everything to make Alicia eat other foods but she always refused.
