An autistic twelve years old called the Police Department of Woodbridge Township to report about his teddy bear which had gone missing.

The Department could have easily dismissed the call since it did not allege any sort of ghastly crime as grave as an assault or a robbery or a murder.

Ryan Paul approached the Police to find his teddy bear. According to Tribune Media Wire, Ryan said in the call to 911 that he has dropped off the teddy bear once more and that he would rescue it again and bade goodbye.

Instead of ignoring it as a hoax, the operator passed it to Khari Manzini, an officer who is trained in handling POAC Autism cases.

Abiding by the norms of the Department, the hangup call got responded back from Manzini.

Manzini said that it makes a significant difference to use their training not only to keep themselves safe but also the people outside.

Finally, they found the toy lying by the side of Ryan’s bed.

Paul said the officer was utmost accommodating and considerate, and it was really a great experience for him.

However, the boy’s father explained to him that a missing toy does not fall under the category of an emergency.
