As mayors in Italy have warned, however, they will no longer tolerate reckless behavior that puts other people at risk.

“I’m getting news that some would like to throw graduation parties,” Vincenzo De Luca, the Campania region governor, said in his video.

“We will send the police over. With flamethrowers.”

Warning the residents that excuses will no longer be tolerated was also Bari mayor Antonio Decaro who personally went through town to scold people for breaking the orders.

“Go home, play some videogames. I’m the mayor of this city. I will make you follow this decree. I don’t want excuses. You must go home. You. All. Have. To. Stay. Home,” he told people he saw playing table tennis outside.

“You will not ‘stroll’ in my town. I can’t formally ban you from leaving your house? I will ban you from setting foot on public soil unless for proven necessities,” he wrote in his Facebook post.

Similarly, several other mayors have urged people to avoid going outside unless completely necessary and warned that breaking the curfew will have consequences.
