The stunning footage was shot from a drone as New South Wales, Australia has been declared 100% drought affected. This is considered to be the biggest drought affecting the country in decades.
Amber Lea, the farmer who uploaded the footage said that her 1300 cattle would not be fed unless she collected the water.
She said that the allocated watering troughs or the water points were too low that the mills had stopped pumping. The scarcity of water in the region is so immense that she has to drive 60-50 kilometers one way to get water for the herd.
As per the readings published by the NSW Department of Primary Industries’ Combined Drought Indicator, it has been revealed that 23% of NSW is suffering through an intense drought, 38.2% is in a drought and 38.7% of the state is now drought-affected.
The State Government has announced the emergency drought relief package of $500 million as the state suffers.
On the other hand, Australian PM Malcolm Turnball announced on Sunday that extra cash payments of up to $12000 would be granted to drought-stricken farmers statewide.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the state has received less than 20% of its usual rainfall since January and Australia experienced its driest and warmest July in two decades.
