A boss at an Australian supermarket has revealed his blunt and brutal response after one of the shoppers tried to return several thousand toilet paper roll packs and hand sanitizer bottles.
The shopper went into Drake’s supermarket in a bid to make a deal.
John-Paul Drake, the director of Drake’s supermarket noted the shocking incident of stockpiling in the YouTube video. He said that he had been working in another store when a receptionist called and said he had to hear this.
After that, what he had heard was unbelievable because an unidentified shopper wished to return the things he had purchased.
The supermarket director revealed that the person wanted to return 150 of 32-toilet paper packs along with 150 bottled of 1-liter sanitizer.
Drake noted that such kind of behavior is disgraceful and he is the type of person who was causing the issue in the entire country. And, unsurprisingly, he refused the deal.
However, that did not discourage the shopper to go again and try his luck once more but this time, he went with a sweet deal. Drake added that the man had all receipts and came back with a 30% discount offer.
Drake said that they had been selling these objects one at a time, which meant that the person had to come 150 times in order to buy them. But because of his haul, 150 customers had to miss out on these necessities.
Drake alleged that the shopper was working with the shopper’s team that buys items when they are in full supply to sell them later at an inflated price when their demand is high. This trick has been tried by other people as well.
Two brothers bought 17,700 hand sanitizer bottles to sell online when the coronavirus pandemic was in its initial stage.
Noah and Matt Colvin of Tennessee drove several thousand miles to collect as many units as the duo could after the U.S. saw its first coronavirus death.
They had spent $10,000-$15,000 on the purchase. However, they could not sell after being blocked by Amazon and had to donate their haul purchase.
